Mr. Martin is a business trial lawyer with 28 years of experience. His practice involves complex business and commercial matters including trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, insurance bad faith, product liability and environmental law. Mr. Martin has tried cases to verdict in state and federal courts and arbitrations. His recent victories include a favorable jury verdict in defense of a bad faith and breach of contract action brought against a title insurer involving a $13 million home in Pebble Beach, California where the bad faith claim was dismissed and the jury awarded a fraction of what the plaintiffs had sought, and a judgment in a court trial enforcing indemnification and subordination agreements to defeat a $5 million mechanic’s lien against a development in the Palm Springs area. Mr. Martin has won numerous other defense verdicts in product liability, title insurance and real estate cases.
