Mr. Martin has been with the firm since 1999. He practices civil litigation with an emphasis on complex business and commercial matters including trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, insurance bad faith, product liability, and environmental law. Mr. Martin has tried cases in state and federal courts as well as binding arbitration. His recent victories include a defense verdict in a product liability case for the manufacturer of a table saw, a defense award in a binding arbitration for a title insurance company where the insured was seeking compensatory and punitive damages for bad faith, and a defense judgment in a court trial for a construction lender in a $2.3 million mechanic’s lien case. Mr. Martin also won summary judgment for his client, a former owner of an industrial site in a $100 million groundwater contamination action brought by the Orange County Water District.
